I was not always a fan of the MKA Olsen duo, but I can't help but admire them these days. I cannot imagine running a billion dollar corporation and overseeing the design of three distinct fashion lines at my age (they are actually a few months younger than I am, don't rub it in!)...unless maybe there was two of me to split the work? Nah, not even then...
Anyway, I was reading the Vogue article on the savvy shrimps and decided to check out the Fall 2011 collection of The Row. Waxing poetic about the virtues of their tailored basics is practically cliche by now, so just check out the fun stuff:
Exquisite details and leopard goatskin always pique my interest. I highly recommend a jaunt over to vogue.com to see the images as they will be better quality. See the full collection here.
There are also more photos of the duo on the website than in the magazine, like these:
I am jealous of their vintage collection (not so much the hat situation).
Typical Saturday morning? Hmm.
Do you love the The Row and it's pint-sized creators? Or does the thought of those Starbucks-guzzling, chain-smoking twins make you weep hater-ade?
I'm admittedly kind of a Mary-Kate and Ashley addict... I just sort of love them. Mostly because I can't imagine being so young and having so much talent and business savvy.

It's so funny that people usually have such strong opinions about this duo! I too am so jealous of their vintage collection, and I actually find myself really loving The Row! Love this post :) xoxo Marissa

I am a HUGE fan of The Row. Although extremely pricey, I think their designs are classically chic and timeless. But I have an affinity for them...I think they really have amazing eyes for design.
ReplyDeleteI'm somewhat embarrassed to say I've always been a fan. Yay for Full House!
ReplyDeleteI've always loved them and always will. Their designs are great and I always find their street style inspiring. One thing I'll remember from this collection are those darn shoes. I've seen them at a few shows this year and until now I thought they were so ugly, but I kind of want some now.
ReplyDeleteSomeone else posted the vogue pics and I thought they were old.. but I guess mk&a are back to looking like twins again (same hair/makeup).
Man.....I'm very very impressed. I never had anything against MKA, but I admit I was skeptical of what their line would turn out like. Their style is beyond their years for sure. Actually, always has been though ;)

one minute they get on my nerves and the next i just love them. from a style/design perspective i think they're amazing. and let's face it - they turned out pretty darn good considering they grew up hollywood and could have imploded like lohan.

i have to admit, i love the olsen twins! i think they have great style!
ReplyDeleteI was never a fan of the Olsen as designers. I have to say that after seeing the pictures above, they are doing something right. Maybe I should try to contact them, and maybe my vision of their brand will change.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post.
I really enjoyed Vogue's coverage of The Row and think the Olsen's have a really great line. Their fabrics and designs are fantastic. Great review! xo style, she wrote
ReplyDeleteMaybe we can split the cost of the JC shoes and I'll have them weekdays and you can have them weekends and holidays :) lol
ReplyDeleteomg, too funny! Well, you know how many people are obsessed with those.. Wouldn't it be crazy cool if a bunch of us who had the same size did the traveling shoe thing so we could each get at least one outfit post with them?? Like one person buys them and people could rent them from you for a few days (rent the runway idea, but for items specifically coveted by bloggers?)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! We should definitely do some kind of traveling piece and see how each person styles it (and put it to a vote- oooh! who wore it best) Lets think about it (since I'm tired and my mind's not working anymore) and email tomorrow to start planning. :) yay
