Happy Friday!

It has been a long week and I am tired, but I spent a little (in reality: way too much) time on Society6 looking at iPhone covers and they cheered me right up! There are sooo many cases on that site, from tree bark graphics, to sloths, to dancing breakfast food and more chevron and ikat patterns than you previously knew existed. They put me in such a good mood I had to share a few:

I love the PaperFashion illustrations of Blair Eadie and Jessica Stam, the cacti cases remind me of back home and the little bird reminds me of my talented friend Emily and her love of photography, watercolors and birds. Orange You Glad?

Rather than do another awkward, self-photographed outfit post, (yikes!), I decided to focus on decor and furniture shopping. Orange you glad about that? I am too funny ;) For couch shopping, it was really hard to find a couch that suited both our needs (he needs a big couch because he's a big guy and I wanted a couch that wasn't over-stuffed and depressing) but we came out okay:

Also, the pillows came with the couch.....they will be changed! ;)

The new brown chenille couch is cozy and delightful, but such a big, dark piece of furniture needs some brightness to balance it out. I naturally gravitate towards blue because it is a favorite color, and orange would be a great third color to add some pop to the room. I think I have already made it clear that I like abstract prints in bright colors (that post here), so I am sure you won't be surprised when you see what oranges have been inspiring me:

Tribal Revival

I admired the ikat prints that exploded on the runway this summer, but they seemed "too much" for my currently pared-down aesthetic. I realized my feelings were such because I wear less clothing in the summer and the wild, graphic variations of the print overwhelmed my sensible side (an ikat maxi dress is A LOT of print for me). Now that fall has me layering like a fiend, I feel comfortable introducing a small item or two into an otherwise stable environment ;)
Here are a few of my favorite accessories:

-Rachel Bilson in an adorable ikat print skirt
-Tolani Gray/Pink Ikat Scarf (Love that the gray gets a lil' kick from the pink)
-Calvin Klein Ikat-Printed Blouse (could make work or weekend looks)
Row 2:
-Himalaya Trading Company scarves (Good deal and a variety of colors)
-Anthropologie Magic Ikat Tea Set (not an accessory, but SO cute)
-Velvet by Graham & Spencer Ikat Sequins dress (metallics = neutral = super wearable!)
